The knives in the gallery are not available for purchase.  Since John's death, I have not been able to bring myself to part with any, except as gifts to our grandchildren.

Meet The Maker

"I take great pleasure in bringing out the hidden masterpiece that can be found in a piece of steel, bone, prehistoric ivory, and man-made materials."

Your Design or Mine

I have always had an interest in knives. As a young teen I started my first collection. I worked weekends and summers for my Uncle Edmund and my Uncle Julius in their Feed and Seed Store. Many weeks I looked forward to payday so I could purchase my next "treasure" from the knife display in the store.

As the years passed, my interest in knives remained though my purchases became fewer. Then...

As I sat surfing the television channels one Sunday afternoon, I happened upon a program on Georgia Public Television. The program, "How to make a Knife" featured knife maker Jim Small. Jim was showing, step by step, how to make a knife. I sat amazed at the precision of a knife made by hand. Until that day, I had no idea a handmade knife could have such beauty and precision. Until then all handmade knives I had seen had been made from old saw blades or old knife blades with blocks of wood crudely shaped into handles.

Jim’s instructions and demonstrations (and the availability of his book to reinforce what I would learn from the program over the next few weeks) gave me the confidence that I could make a knife.

This all happened about 20 years ago. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed making knives. I take great pleasure in bringing out the hidden masterpiece that can be found in a piece of steel, bone, prehistoric ivory, and man-made materials. I hope you enjoy your knife as much as I enjoy making knives.

All knives carry a lifetime warranty except in cases of abuse.  If you have a problem with any of my knives contact me for return information.  After inspection, if I determine that the knife has not been abused I will either repair or replace the knife.  My goal is for you to be a satisfied customer.
